Our firm was built around experienced people working together, combining personal service, professional depth, and a collaborative approach to help clients navigate important financial decisions with clarity and confidence.

All Hands on Deck

A coordinated team, built around each client relationship

Each client relationship is supported by a dedicated advisory team that typically includes a lead advisor, a support advisor, and a client service professional working together on your behalf.

From the beginning, your team works to understand your goals, your family, and the financial decisions that matter most to you. Rather than relying on a single point of contact, our collaborative structure helps create continuity, responsiveness, and a deeper understanding of your overall financial picture.

Because your advisory team works closely together, communication tends to be more coordinated, proactive, and personal over time.

Our Story

Our History

Mainsail Wealth Advisors was built around a simple belief: clients deserve thoughtful advice, personal attention, and a team committed to putting their interests first.

Serving Clients for Over 20 Years

Mainsail Wealth Advisors was built on the belief that clients are best served through collaboration.

From the beginning, our team was founded on the belief that clients benefited most when experienced professionals worked together rather than operating independently. By sharing perspectives, investment insight, planning experience, and different areas of expertise, we felt we could provide a higher caliber of advice and a more thoughtful client experience.

Our roots trace back to A.G. Edwards, a firm known for its strong culture and commitment to putting clients first. As the industry evolved through a series of mergers and increasing consolidation, our team wanted the flexibility to build a practice that reflected the way we believed wealth management should work: independent, personal, collaborative, relationship-driven, and focused on long-term trust.

In 2013, we established Mainsail Wealth Advisors because we believed there was a better way to serve clients. We wanted the flexibility to build a more independent, relationship-driven firm where experienced professionals worked closely together and advice could remain personal and thoughtful as clients’ lives became more complex.

Today, from offices in Gloucester and Richmond, Virginia, our team serves families and businesses across the country. While the firm has grown, the philosophy has remained the same: bring good people together, collaborate closely, and help clients navigate important financial decisions with clarity and confidence.
